Miley Cyrus appeared on B96 Chicago radio to promote her newest single, “We Can’t Stop,” just hours after news broke that her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, would divorce. The 20-year-old Disney icon revealed that she is doing “fine” but is concerned about her younger sister.
People spoke to entertainment reporter Showbiz Shelly, who revealed that the “Ashtrays and Hearbreaks” singer was in a surprisingly good mood during her interview, despite the recent sad news.
Shelly explained that Cyrus was honest when faced with the question about her parents’ divorce saying, “Oh, I'm fine. I'm okay. I'm much more concerned for my sister [Noah]. She's 13.”
Miley’s mother, Tish, requested full custody of Noah in the divorce documents.
Miley reached out to her father shortly after the news broke via Twitter writing, “@billyraycyrus since your text and email obviously aren’t working would you like to talk like this?” She has since deleted the tweet. Additionally Miley explained that she wouldn’t notice much of a difference in her parents’ split due to her upcoming hectic touring schedule.
