Two years after the fact, iCarly’s Miranda Cosgrove has decided to sue the three parties involved in a bus crash in 2011 that left her with a broken ankle and caused her to be disfigured and disabled.
One early morning in August 2011, Cosgrove, her mother, and three other passengers were traveling on a bus through Illinois on the actress-singer’s “Dancing Crazy Tour,” TMZ reported.
Since the sun hadn’t yet come up, the bus driver failed to notice an overturned tractor trailer lying across the road.
The driver hit the brakes and directly crashed into the semi, an accident which fractured Cosgrove’s right ankle and seriously bruised her mother.
At the time, Cosgrove praised the bus driver for slamming on the breaks instead of swerving away from the semi which could have overturned the bus and caused the passengers more harm.
Two years later, however, Cosgrove is changing her tune.
She and her mother intend to sue the tour bus driver, the tractor-trailer’s driver, and the transportation company because the accident left Cosgrove “disfigured and disabled” and because they both “lost their normal lives” that fateful day, the Daily Mail reports.
In her lawsuit, Cosgrove claims that the accident could’ve been prevented if only the bus driver had kept a “safe and proper lookout.”
She’s also suing him for not hitting the brakes on time.
The Nickelodeon star and her mother are seeking $50,000 each in as yet unspecified damages.
