The young woman who threw a dozen eggs at Simon Cowell during the finale of Britain’s Got Talent has been identified but the show has declined to press charges against her.
Yesterday we reported that, during the finale performance, a mystery woman left her place in the background orchestra, took center stage, and began to hurl eggs at Cowell who was sitting at the judges’ table a few feet away.
The performance continued on while the woman was dragged off-stage by security.
Reuters magazine has now revealed the woman to be a 30-year-old violinist named Natalie Holt.
Last year, Holt auditioned for BGT with the Raven Quartet string ensemble but was rejected by Cowell and the other judges.
Holt did apologize to Richard and Adam Johnson for interrupting their opera performance, but she was unapologetic about assaulting Cowell.
She said, “I basically took a stand against people miming on television and against Simon and his dreadful influence on the music industry.”
Surprisingly, Holt will not reap the consequences of her bizarre actions.
A spokeswoman for Britain’s Got Talent stated, “As a result of her misguided actions, the police were called. However, we have decided to take no further action at this stage.”
