The Jackson family is back in the media spotlight again after Paris Jackson, the 15-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson, was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday following a suicide attempt. Her brother, Prince Michael, has cancelled a promotional trip to Europe to appear on TV shows.

People reports that the 16-year-old Prince Michael will not fly to Paris to appear on the German series Wetten, dass ...? (Wanna Bet?) as previously planned. A rep for the show’s network, ZDF, said they spoke with Prince Michael’s management and decided that it would be best for him not to travel overseas.

“Under these circumstances, we perfectly understand that Prince Michael prefers to stay close to his family,” rep Silke Blömer told People. “We wish Paris the strength and the power to recover soon.”

Paris was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital early Wednesday morning to be treated for cuts on her arms and wrists. “Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention,” a statement from Katherine Jackson, her grandmother, read.

Meanwhile, TMZ continues to publish more details from unnamed sources, including one report that suggested that she did leave a suicide note and used a meat cleaver. Another report claims that the LAPD do not believe that she really wanted to kill herself.

“She wanted to be saved,” one source said. “It makes no sense if you really want to die to call a hotline, where the person on the other end will get an ambulance over to your house.”

The fourth anniversary of her father's death is this summer and the family is in the middle of a wrongful death lawsuit against AEG.
