Paris Jackson has very strong feelings about Justin Bieber.
Sources close to the 15-year-old say that in the wake of her suicide attempt, in which she took 20 Motrin and cut her arm, Jackson has been opening up about her feelings on self harm and what more celebrities could do to take a stand against cutting.
In particular, Jackson targeted the “Boyfriend” singer, allegedly saying that Bieber’s latest antics are “a disgrace” and that he could be doing more as a role model for young girls, TMZ reports.
Earlier this year, Bieber stayed silent as fans began tweeting photos of acts of self-harm in response to photos of the singer smoking marijuana. “#CutForBieber” began trending worldwide on Twitter.
As explained by Gawker when the hashtag took off, the Internet craze was rooted in a disturbing ploy by “Internet trolls” who published the photos under fake accounts. Operation Cut For Bieber, as the creators dubbed it, was inspired by a similar operation in which fans were encouraged to cut their hair in solidarity for their idol, who had been diagnosed by the trolls as sick with cancer.
While it was never clear exactly who started Operation Cut For Bieber, or how many of the photos from alleged fans were authentic, encouragement for the movement was upsetting enough. According to Jackson, Bieber could have, and probably should have, done more to squelch the trending hashtag. The source close to Jackson says the word "hate" is appropriate in describing her feelings for the singer.
