Rupert Murdoch, the head of the media conglomerate News Corp., has filed for divorce from his wife Wendi Deng.

The news was broken by Deadline, which noted that the divorce was filed in New York State Supreme Court.

Shortly after the story was published, the company confirmed the report to Reuters and The New York Times.

The two met in 1997 in Hong Kong and married in 1999, just a month after his divorce from Anna Maria Torv Murdoch Mann was finalized. The couple has two daughters.

According to The Huffington Post, this is his third divorce. The filing notes that the “relationship between husband and wife has broken down irretrievably.”

The divorce comes just days after the News Corp. shareholders approved of the plan to split the company in half. News Corp. will remain the name of the publishing arm, which includes Murdoch’s tabloids. 21st Century Fox will be a new company that will include the 20th Century Fox movie studio and other entertainment holdings.

Deadline notes that the divorce isn’t expected to impact those proceedings, which will be completed at the end of the month.
