Long live Carrie Bradshaw! Sarah Jessica Parker is teaming up with George Malkemus, the CEO of Manolo Blahnik, the same shoe Parker’s Sex and the City character Brandshaw swore by during its six season run.
New York Daily News reports that Parker revealed the exciting news during an interview with Vogue saying, “In a silly way, I think it’s what people have expected of me most because of Carrie Bradshaw.”
The line, which will include shoes, bags and trenches, will aptly be titled SJP. The line will be made available at Nordstroms in early 2014.
“It’s sort of soup to nuts,” Parker explained. “You put on a shoe and you put on a coat and you wear a bag and, on the outside, when you’re walking down the street, they really can tell the same story about yourself.”
Fans of Sex and the City know what to expect of the shoes and bags, considering Bradshaw’s ultra-chic, yet ultra-funky style. The fashionista explains that the bags and shoes will center around colors you “wish existed in your closet” but don’t currently exist. “And in terms of bags, thinking about that period of the seventies into the eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag.”
The shoes are slated to go from $200-$300, with bags starting around $700. The products are said to be in production in both Europe and New York City, with a location and pricing for the trenches still being decided.
