Salt Lake City, Utah’s Mormon church owned NBC has decided to air Saturday Night Live this fall.
Variety reports that the SLC NBC affiliate, KSL, aired a handful of the hilarious sketch series, but never aired it on a regular basis. Many speculated that the content on the program, but that doesn’t seem to be the case at all. Variety reports that instead of airing SNL, a local sports talkshow ran in place of it.
Now, KSL has opened up a slot for the fall season of SNL announcing the news on their Facebook Page. “Programming Note: Starting this fall, KSL is pleased to welcome Saturday Night Live to its weekly line-up, on Saturday nights at 10:30,” the post reads. “More changes and updates to the fall line-up are coming soon – stay with us and we’ll keep you posted!”
The network is no stranger to picking and choosing what it will air. Prior to its cancellation, KSL opted to boycott the NBC series The New Normal, deeming it “inappropriate for family viewing time.” The New Normal focused on a gay couple hoping to start a family via surrogate.
Variety notes that the network also blocked Hannibal due to the “extensive graphic nature of the show,” and The Playboy Club.
