Selena Gomez shocked us when she released “Come & Get It” because of the mature, sultry tone of the song we weren’t used to hearing from her music. The song became immensely popular making people crave more from the 20-year-old singer. But just recently, Gomez further shocked us when she announced that after her “Stars Dance” world tour this summer, she will take a break from music and focus on her acting career.

As the “Stars Dance” tour will be Gomez’s first world tour, according to NY Daily News she told French radio star NRJ that there will be a lot more dancing. She also says she needs to get in shape to give her fans the show they deserve.

When asked about whether or not she wanted to take a break from singing Gomez replied, “Yeah, probably for awhile. I wanna get more into film. I’m opening up to new things.”

The former Disney star’s latest film gig was starring in Harmony Korine’s critically acclaimed dark-comedy Spring Breakers. She also recently just starred alongside Ethan Hawke in the action film “Getaway” which is currently in post-production and will hit theaters August 30.

Though we have high hopes for Gomez, according to Hollywood Life in August 2011 Gomez told E! News that she was going to stick to one thing, which would probably be acting.

“I feel like music is obviously a wonderful palette to grow, but it’s more comfortable for me to grow as a character as opposed to myself, if that makes sense.”

Could the “Stars Dance” world tour be the last for Gomez? Which would you like to see Gomez stick to – singing or acting?
