Comedian Stephen Colbert’s mother has died. She was 92-years-old.

The Colbert Report host did not record a new episode for Thursday, the day after he had an hour-long special with Paul McCartney. Last February, Colbert had to cancel two episodes to be with his mother, who was in declining health. “Evidently having 11 children makes you tough as nails...Confidential to a lovely lady,” he told his audience when he returned.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lorna Elizabeth Tuck Colbert passed away on Wednesday. Colbert and former Congressional candidate Elizabeth Colbert Busch are among of her 11 children.

Lorna’s Charleston Post and Courier obituary notes that she was born on Nov. 6, 1920 in Larchmont, New York. She was an artist, businesswoman, church leader and avid supporter of the arts, according to the paper. Her guest book has over 15 pages of messages.

The family asks that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Medical University of South Carolina Foundation for the Dr. James W. Colbert Endowment Fund.
