The Bachelorette, Desiree Hartsock, continued her search for love this week and she “couldn’t have asked for a better groups of guys” for her bachelorette dating pool.
The show started off with her first one-on-one date with Brooks, 28, who is from Utah, which instantly got a lot of guys jealous. They drove off in a baby blue Bentley and she took him to a bridal salon because it was important for her to show the guys her passion—designing bridal dresses. At the salon, Brooks tried on many different tux’s and Desiree tried on dresses. It might have been a little awkward, but Brooks was really enthusiastic about it and went with it. He is definitely coming off as a favorite this season. Later, dressed in a wedding dress and tux, they stopped by at a cupcake truck and then drove to the top of the Hollywood sign, overlooking Los Angeles. Going there meant a lot for Desiree because it meant following your passion and to keep going. Together, they talked about previous relationships and shared their first kiss. Brooks confided that he’ll keep taking chances at getting his heart broken again and again, if it means at the end he’ll find the one. Similar to Dez, he too really gives it his all when he’s in love, he said. Afterwards, they drove off and gave the impression that they were lost, but ended up getting to a romantic dinner. Brooks opened up about his parent’s divorce and how he hopes for a perfect relationship, like Desiree’s parents. He became emotional talking about his relationship with his dad and stumbled when answering the question regarding marriage. Brooks told the viewers, about Desiree, “It’s pretty easy for you to open up and share with her who you are.” Ending the night, musician Andy Grammer, made an appearance and the couple danced and sang along to his performance. Brooks, is a sweetheart, really caring, and was a good sport about the evening the whole time.
On the group date, the chosen boys starred in their own rap video. Rapper, Soulja Boy, guided and helped them along the way. They rapped to the video title, “For the Right Reasons,” hinting at the fact that Desiree hopes all the men are there for the right reasons. The boys let loose and had fun. Brandon, Michael G, James, Mikey T, and Ben free-styled and rapped to lyrics written about former bachelors and contestants. Others were back-up dancers. Both Dez and the boys got dressed up for the different scenes. Ben, an entrepreneur, who brought his son to meet Desiree on the first episode, is raising some eyebrows in the house. A lot of the boy’s don’t seem to like him and feel like he’s there for the wrong reasons and is not genuine. He ended up stealing her away again from Mikey G, a plumbing contractor and getting a rose during the night. They, too, shared a kiss. Contestant Zak W, showed his softer side, after showing up shirtless and jumping in the pool the first night, by sharing his past and giving Desiree and encrypted journal to write and share her thoughts. Brandon, 26, seems to stand out and is a favorite in the season so far. He showed his caring side when he seemed to be worried about Ben being on the show for the wrong reasons and opening up to Dez about what he hopes for in the future and the strong feelings he has for her.
Bryden, 26, and Iraq War veteran was lucky enough to get the second one-on-one date with Desiree. He’s from Montana so Desiree drove him around to show him California and took him to El Matador Beach. Bryden seems really genuine and camera shy—which is sweet. He shared a story about a horrific car crash he had in college, which left him with broken bones, ribs, collapsed lungs, and stapled head. He credits his experience in the Army, and acknowledges that to why he is so grateful for the little things in life. He is definitely a standout contestant this season. Bryden received a rose, and wasn’t hesitant to kiss Desiree but when she told him, “just kiss me already!” they shared an intimate moment.
Ben who already received a rose, at one point during episode, stole Desiree away once again from Michael G, which caused even more confrontation among him and the other men. He is definitely the “Tierra” of this season. Contestants who were sent home were, 28-year-old Will who is a banker, Robert, 30, and Nick M, 27, who is an investment advisor from North Carolina.
As seen in previews, more drama unfolds next week in the fight for Desiree’s heart. A contestant’s girlfriend shows up, and another contestant ends up in an ambulance. Viewers will also see more confrontation between Ben and the other contestants.
