A lot of drama unfolded on the third episode of “The Bachelorette ” this week. And when I say a lot, I mean an overhaul. The episode took off with a group date with contestants Chris, Brian, Drew, Michael, Brooks, Brad Mikey G, Brandon, Zak K and Ben. During the date, Desire had the National Dodge Baller League battle the boys in a game of dodge ball to see who can really give it their all. After getting pummeled, host Chris Harrison saved them and had them battle each other out inside. He split them up into two teams, Blue and Red. In a public arena they fought intensely till the end. Brooks, on the red team, broke his finger and had to go to the hospital. The blue team emerged victorious.

Later on in the night, Brad got some one-on-one time by pulling Desiree away from the group date and opened up to her. He told Des’ that he has a three-year-old son, Max, and hadn’t dated in two years; that his ex has alcohol problems and had accused him of abuse while intoxicated, filing a retraining order against him. The accusations being false, the charges were dropped, and his son now stays with him back home. While contestant Chris made a bold move and took Desiree to the roof of the resort, overlooking L.A. He ended up getting the rose of the night, and got extra bonus time with Desiree, as well as a special performance from Kate Earl. The two shared a danced and kissed. Brooks also came back from the E.R. and viewers clearly saw the chemistry between the two. Both of them kept admitting they missed each other. Desiree also kissed him goodnight.

The next day, Kasey prepared for his one-on-one date with Desiree. Unfortunately here’s where the major drama unfolded. Desiree received a call from Chris Harrison saying that one of the contestants isn’t being truthful. She needed to get to the bottom of it. Desiree pulled Brian aside and confronted him about his past relationship. He still had a girlfriend back home, and she showed up at the Bachelor mansion to tell Desiree he was there for the wrong reason. His ex, Stephanie, who also has a son, confronted him about his lying and cheating on the show, calling him a "lying, cheating, deceitful pig." Desiree became furious at the fact that he had slept with Stephanie two nights before he came to film the show. He had also never told Stephanie that he was leaving her for “The Bachelorette.” He admitted to Desiree that he had had a rocky relationship with Stephanie. Stephanie had also tried to break up with before he left for the show but he supposedly said that he just needed time and they would work things out. After an intense he-said-she-said conversation with Stephanie, Desiree decided there was no way he was going further in the competition and sent him packing.

Kasey, a 29–year old, advertising executive, got to go on the only one-on-one date of the episode with Desiree. She planned a date where they could go Vanda Looping on the side of a building. They both danced and swirled with a harness holding them up. Later they had dinner on top of the Andaz building in West Hollywood. However, the date turned out to be a tad disastrous when the wind became heavy and kept blowing things away. Kasey still managed to get a rose because he was a good sport about it.

On the last group date of the episode, James, Juan Pablo, Bryden and Zak W enjoyed Desiree’s company. Dressed as cowboys, they met the professional stunt group for the movie “The Lone Ranger,” and were taught to shoot a gun, lasso rope, and fight in “Cowboy Boot Camp.” Each of the guys had to act out a scene where they were saving Desiree from bad guys. The winner, Juan Pablo, got to spend time with Desiree watching a private screening of the “Lone Ranger” in a barn set up as a movie theater. They also had an intimate make-out session.

To conclude the episode, Desiree canceled the cocktail ceremony and, instead, hosted a pool party. Just before it got started, Ben stirred things up when he stole her away and went on a car ride. He then lied about it to the other contestants when asked if he had already spent time with her, again causing a lot of conflict between him and the other guys.

Brandon talked with her a little during the party and opened up to her about his feelings. He shared the fact that he was really hurt about the whole thing that happened with Brian. It brought back bad memories for him because Brian had left his girlfriend and her kid back home. He too was left with his mom after his dad walked out on them. It made him really angry that anyone would do that. He told Desiree he never intends on hurting her and that he was falling in love with her.

Unfortunately, during the rose ceremony, Desiree sent him home because she wasn’t feeling a connection. He explained that it felt like his “heart was smashed by a hammer.” Dan, 26, a beverage sales director was also sent home.

Tune in next Monday on ABC to find out who Desiree finds her chemistry with and the other boys she’ll choose to send home. Leave a comment below to discuss your favorites, thus far.
