The episode starts out at Jim's office, and when he's asked by a reporter, with David at his side, about running for governor, and he doesn't give a clear answer. Candice is also at the office, and she goes up to the same reporter in view of Jim and David, and she is giving the impression to them that she is spilling the secrets about the affair. Once Candice left, David asks Jim whats really going on with him and Candice, and that he planned on fixing this situation. At the Young house, Benny comes into Hanna's room to find that she's fallen asleep with bills on her bed. He doesn't want her to worry too much about money, especially since she was just sick and is getting older. She doesn't seem worried about their home's mortgage, though, knowing that it's been paid, but Benny seems to be.
Veronica comes into the Cryer home asking Katheryn if Jim is running for governor, but Katheryn doesn't seem to want him to. This isn't like Katheryn, and Veronica picks up on this, and asks her what's really going on. Katheryn says that she worries that as a candidate for governor, all of Jim's secrets will come out, which of course gets Veronica wondering. Veronica also make it clear that she wants her husband to be lieutenant governor, so Jim running affects her as well. In Jim's office, Candice waits at the desk for Jim to come in, but is surprised that it's actually David who enters. He comes in with a deal for her to sign- scholarship for college in exchange for never seeing Jim or his family again. She obviously doesn't agree to these terms, and is not phased by him his threats.
They go back and forth with threats showing they aren't afraid of each other, but ultimately Candice warns David that she wants $100,000 cash and a convertible or she will go to the media and completely ruin his reputation and his chances of being a governor. Benny is at his mom's house when Candice comes in. He confronts about what he now knows, that she hasn't been paying the mortgage, so obviously Hanna doesn't know about any of this. She lies saying she has been, but only missed a few months. She also tells him that she's working on a way to get all the money to pay it off. There's a possibility of them losing the house, but she lets him know that she will get the money, but lies telling him that she found a wealthy boyfriend that will shower her with the money. David walks in to the office and tells Jim that Candice didn't take the offer, and Jim decides to just give in and give her the money. His problem now is moving that kind of money without his wife finding out.
Hanna is on her day off, but while talking at home with her friend and coworker Celine, she's called by Katheryn to come in to work anyway, and to bring Celine with her. On her way out, a police officer shows up at her door and tells her she's being evicted and has to leave soon. While at the Cryer home, Celine asks her about what happened, and Hanna has already come to the conclusion that the reason she was evicted had to do with her mortgage. Veronica and Katheryn are talking when Wyatt and Jeffrey come in. For some reason, Veronica seems to be worried about her son Jeffrey, and Katheryn asks Wyatt about his progress in rehab. Veronica also asks Jeffrey about a bracelet that he's wearing. When Wyatt says it's his, Katheryn notices that the bracelet was Wyatt's grandfather's. Katheryn is shocked that Wyatt could have just given that bracelet away, Wyatt seems not to care and says he never wanted the bracelet. Soon after, David and Jim joins them, and so does Amanda. Once everybody is seated, Jim is ready to make an announcement, but just then Candice comes in the house. Of course, Jim and David are suspicious of her being there, but then Amanda says that she invited her. Candice asks the maid (which is of course is actually her mother Hanna) for a sparkling water, and this causes Hanna to go into the kitchen fed up with her daughter, to the point that she wants to go back in there and tell the family who Candice really is.
