Last night’s premiere of America’s Got Talent brought us two new judges, former Spice Girl Mel B and supermodel Heidi Klum. Expanding the judge’s table means that this year’s talent will need three votes to get through to the Las Vegas rounds, instead of two. It’ll be interesting to see how the addition of two new female judges affects this year’s competition. However, the main focus of America’s Got Talent isn’t the judges, it’s the talent, and this year, America is really stepping it up. There were so many wonderful acts featured in last night’s show that the producers nearly ran out of time to show the hilariously horrible acts that they always love to feature. Check out what I thought were the top ten most amazing acts from last night. Is your favorite not on the list? Add it in the comments below. Here’s to another exciting season of America’s Got Talent!

10. David the Cobra Kid

I did not believe this guy was going to live through his performance. That snake looked angry. But he did it, and we’ll see what else he has in Vegas.

9. Pacific Boys Choir

A beautiful and haunting performance. I wish they had shown us more of it.

8. 3 Penny Chorus and Orchestra

I wasn’t expecting much out of these guys, because I’m usually not a fan of orchestra. I was pleasantly surprised— I loved the song arrangement and the combination of pop music with a wonderful choir and orchestra.

7. Marty Brown

I normally don’t really like singers going on this show. There’s just so many other singing competition shows, and I don’t think singers should be taking the spots of talents which can’t be highlighted anywhere else. But Marty was amazing. I especially loved how humble he was. And his cowboy hat.

6. Tone the Chief Rocka

While I doubt Tone will make it very far in this competition, his Booty song was catchy and it certainly had the audience and the judges on their feet.

5. Special Head

Oh gosh, Special Head. I couldn’t even handle him when he came on the stage, he was just so ridiculous. But what he did was incredible— I have no idea how he did it, and I can’t wait to see more. I hope he’s not a one-trick wonder.

4. Anna Christine

I still have the issue with singers on this show, but Anna Christine was amazing. Her voice, for a ten year old, was so well developed. She just seemed so mature, both in her voice and mannerisms.

3. Catapult

I always love the dance groups, but these guys really stood out. I really loved the way that they told a story with their dance, and I can’t wait to see what they do next.

2. Angela Hoover

Usually my problem with impressionists is that, even when their impressions are spot on, their material isn’t really that funny. Angela was completely different though— I was entertained the entire time. When she started impersonating Penelope Cruz making balloon animals I (along with the audience and judges) could not stop laughing.

1. Hype

I really, really loved this one. I just can’t stop watching their performance. I’m not sure if they were telling the truth when they said they choreographed the whole dance overnight, but if they were, then they are absolutely incredible.
