Can we just take a second to appreciate Nick Cannon? Unlike the hosts on most reality shows, Nick just doesn’t stand there and make announcements. He gets involved in the acts, both onstage and off. His questions make him seem genuinely interested in what these people are doing, and he’s always willing to help, even when it seems very, very dangerous (see: letting Pistol Packin’ Paula whip the paper out of his mouth last week, and handing the bowls to the wobbling Rong Niu on her unicycle this week). He really brings something to the show, and it wouldn’t be the same without him. But anyway, onto last night’s America’s Got Talent. Because the episode was shortened due to The Voice finale, there were only actually eight acts shown, and so I ranked those. Have anything to say about the acts on the list? Say it in the comments below.

8. Team Rock

I’m sure they must have done something impressive, as karate acts usually don’t make it to Vegas. We weren’t shown much of them, but the trick where the boy broke three wooden blocks with one air kick impressed me.

7. Omega Force Strength Team

Being able to slam your elbow through 42 blocks of concrete is pretty awesome, as is a 75-year-old body builder. I’m still confused about why there was a random motorcycle on stage though…

6. Kyle and Darby

This one just looked weird to me, probably because of how tiny Darby is and how it looked like Kyle was just throwing around a pillow. Still, her stunts were very good, especially for someone so young, and it definitely takes away the typical cheerleaders at a football game effect to have her stunting with only one person.

5. Deanna DellaCioppa

Another great singer, but I can’t help but feeling like I’ve seen the same thing time and time again.

4. Sprice

Despite his complete and total lack of energy and stage presence, Sprice was able to build a very cool Rube Goldberg machine that even incorporated an America’s Got Talent flag made out of dominoes.

3. American Military Spouses Choir

Beautiful story, beautiful voices. I’ve been waiting for a choir to be successful on this show, and I think this season might be the time for that.

2. Kenichi Ebina

I’m always a sucker for dancers who are able to make themselves seem electronic. This guy took it to a whole new level with his Matrix-esque moves. It was completely original, and the trick where Kenichi made it look like his head fell off was incredible.

1. Rong Niu

Now I’ve tried to ride a unicycle before (a normal height one), and it is not easy. Being able to ride a unicycle in heels with one foot while throwing bowls with your feet and catching them on your head? Absolutely amazing.
