In case you haven’t heard by now, Marlene King is creating a spinoff of Pretty Little Liars starring fan favorite, Tyler Blackburn who plays Caleb. Many tears were shed when we found out he would be leaving the show – which means he’s also leaving his girlfriend Hannah (Ashley Benson) – but it turns out, Blackburn is just as sad to be leaving PLL!

In an interview with E!, Blackburn says, “It’s a little bit bittersweet obviously because I have so much affinity for the cast and crew. But it’s part of a franchise so it still feels like part of the family in a way.”

So what’s in store for Ravenswood?

Viewers will be introduced to Ravenswood during the annual Pretty Little Liars Halloween special. Creator Marlene King dishes that fans should expect this series to be much more dark than Pretty Little Liars. Blackburn adds that the show resembles a supernatural horror film.

“The secrets are darker, the stakes are greater. It’s a darker, scarier, Dark Shadows-y kind of place,” King says.

But don’t worry PLL fans – according to ONTRC, there will be character crossovers between the two shows. It is confirmed that Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Toby (Keegan Allen) will venture to Ravenswood along with Hannah throughout the series and even (surprise!) Mona (Janel Parrish).

Shay Mitchell, who plays Emily on Pretty Little Liars, says about Blackburn’s departure, “It’s such a bittersweet topic of conversation because we love working with Tyler and he’s so amazing, but at the same time we’re so proud of him and we know that the show is also going to be amazing.”
