The Independent Film Channel (IFC) is working with Will Ferrell and Funny or Die in creating a mini-series with huge Hollywood names.

The six-part series, The Spoils of Babylon, is a saga parody spanning a century-long story according to Entertainment Weekly. The series is based off a fictional novel written by Eric Jonrosh (Ferrell), a fictional author. It will premiere in early 2014.

The Deadline confirms Jessica Alba, Val Kimer, Tobey Maguire, Haley Joel Osment, Michael Sheen, Tim Robins and Kristen Wiig have already signed on.

The plot focuses on the Morehouse family, a wealthy family who works in the oil business. The family includes Jonas Morehouse (Robins), his daughter Cynthia (Wiig), and her adopted brother Devon (Maguire). The story gets interesting as Cynthia, while married to Chet Hainer (Sheen) and has an evil son (Osment), has a secret relationship with Devon. Yet, Devon will have another love interest with Jessica Alba’s character Dixie Mellonworth.

“This amazingly talented cast will give this decadent genre its due respect,” said president and general manager of IFC Jennifer Caserta. “Never before has a parody of a mini-series been more poised for showers of accolades.”
