With the confirmation that the hit FX mini-series will be premiering in October, we can’t help but look forward to seeing our favorite recurring cast members and welcoming new faces to the New Orleans witch coven.
Back in June, Paulson told PopSugar about American Horror Story: Coven, “There’s a lot of witchy bitches on this show. There’s a lot of women… There are no men. Right now, there’s Evan Peters and that’s all we know. But I’ll take it. Evan Peters is enough man for me, if you know what I mean.”
It was recently announced that the mini series was on the lookout for males to cast, along with finishing up some female casting. Spoiler TV announced that three recurring roles are currently being cast. The first is Carter, a 20 something small town hunk, the second, a 20-year-old version of Gwen (Jessica Lange’s character), and the last, a 20-year-old version of Ruth (Frances Conroy’s character).
A few weeks ago an audition tape was released from Byron Mann’s (Arrow) audition for the role of Dr. David Zhong. Zhong, whose character will be in the premiere episode, is described to be a charming Asian doctor. The audition involved the doctor talking with a rich, elderly widow and showing her a video of Allegra – an injection of youth serum. The woman demands it on the spot to make her look youthful again, however Zhong deems it impossible.
Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone and Gabourey Sidibe were among the women to be cast in roles for the upcoming season. Returning stars include Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Frances Conroy.
