“He Did What He Wanted” is the fourteenth episode of season two of ABC Family series Switched At Birth. In the episode, Daphne and Bay get mixed signals from their potential love interests. Daphne doesn’t know where she stands with Jace after they kissed. He is reluctant to hang out with Daphne on the Fourth of July, saying he has "prior engagements." Daphne party crashes with Emmett and Jace seems on edge and uncomfortable. Daphne is in awe with Jace and when he disappears from the party she goes to look for him and sees him making moves and flirting with a girl. Daphne is upset and Jace chases after her.

Bay and Ty try to figure out what their relationship entails. Bay is eager to move forward with Ty but it seems like he is reluctant and hesitant. This leaves Bay questioning if Ty is interested in her anymore. Bay learns more about Mary Beth and Ty in the episode. Mary Beth and Ty both grieve the loss of Mary Beth’s brother. Bay is determined to lighten the mood and plans a double date. Bay invites Mary Beth’s crush miniature golfing. The entire date is disastrous and ends with Mary Beth losing her brother's tags he earned from the army. Towards the end of the episode Bay confronts Ty and asks him what his intentions are. We find out that Ty is trying to get himself together before jumping into a relationship. It ends with them in a steamy kiss and finally being on the same page.

Emmett has struggles with his father having a girlfriend and wanting to get a cochlear implant. Regina finally gets a job and Angelo joins the country club. Regina and Angelo see Katherine and John and exchange an awkward moment. John and Katherine excuse themselves to have lunch with his boss. Katherine is put in an uncomfortable position as John’s boss makes a pass at her. John confronts him and it leads to a heated argument. In the episode, the political world seems dirty and corrupt.

The stress continues as he finds out Bay is talking to Ty again and doesn’t approve of Regina’s parenting skills. John wants Bay to come back home but she’s stubborn to the idea. Regina and John have an argument about Bay and not being able to see his daughter. John passes out at the end of the episode and Regina is left to help him since no one is home. Regina calls 911 and starts giving John CPR. Has John reached his limit? Tune in next week to see what unfolds.
