Actress Anna Chlumsky has had one incredible day. On the same day that she earned her first ever Emmy nomination, the Veep actress confirmed that she welcomed a baby girl last week.

Chlumsky, 32, told People that she and her husband Shaun So, 32, welcomed Penelope Joan So on Thursday, July 11.

“She’s a really good mix between my husband and me,” she told People. “When she’s with him, you see him, and when she’s with me, you see me. She’s a perfect mix.” She joked that they think “she has my mouth,” and noted that “she has a really full head of hair.”

Chlumsky earned one of Veep’s five Emmy nominations. She was nominated for her supporting role in the hit HBO political satire, created by Armando Iannucci, who directed her in In The Loop. The show, which stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Vice President, was also nominated for Outstanding comedy series.

“I’m still in shock. When I got the call I wasn’t sleeping because I was breastfeeding my daughter,” she told People. “It was neat because it was me and my husband and my daughter all in the room getting the news at the same time. When [my manager] told me, it was that nervous, happy, appreciative laughter. I just laughed a lot! It feels really great to have your work noticed.”

Chlumsky announced that she was expecting a child in March. The My Girl star and So, an entrepreneur, married in 2008.

“I’m really, really happy. I’m just smiley,” she added to People. “I have this new bundle of love that’s now in my life. She has made my life even better."
