ABC Family’s Bunheads has been canceled after only one season. Amy Sherman-Palladino’s show about a Vegas showgirl that finds a home in a Paradise, California dance studio was a fan favorite but ultimately didn’t get picked up for a second season.

A spokesperson for ABC Family said in a statement about the cancelation, “Bunheads is a wonderful series that we are very proud to have aired.”

They continued about the series, starring Sutton Foster (Michelle), Bailey Buntain (Ginny) and Emma Dumont (Melanie), “The series had amazing storytelling, the most talented cast and a passionate and loyal fan base. Recognizing all of this, we took extra time to try and find ways to bring the series back for another season, but in the end it simply wasn’t possible. We wish the cast and crew the best in their future endeavors,” EW reports.

Foster took to Twitter to thank fans of the show with a quick note, writing “Thank you all for the love!!! Onwards and upwards!” Buntain wrote, “Thankful is the biggest understatement 2 express my experience on Bunheads. I will miss the cast & creative team the most.. & also craft too.”
