Actor John Barrowman married his long-time partner on July 2nd after the Supreme Court overturned Defense of Marriage Act.
The Daily Mail reports, the Doctor Who actor, 46, posted a video on WhoSay showing him and his partner Scott Gill, a British architect, driving to the courthouse.
“It’s five after one and we’ve got our coffee and we’re in the car getting ready to leave, because where are we going Scott?” said Barrowman in the video. Turning the video to Gill, he replies, “To get married. Yay!”
Later that day, they posted a photo of them holding their Californian marriage license, wedding bands around their fingers.
The two have been in a relationship for 20 years since 1991, after Gill, saw one of Barrowman’s plays at the Chichester Festival Theatre. They entered a civil partnership in Wales in 2006, according to US Weekly.
The newlyweds vowed that once gay marriage was legal they would get married. In addition, adoption could be in their future as they told reporters they would like to adopt a teen.
