Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice mentor shocked fans when he announced his engagement to Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo on Tuesday. Considering he was spotted with a different model, Nina Agdal, just last month, how did this end up happening so quickly?
Sources say his relationship with Agdal wasn’t serious and since breaking up with Prinsloo last spring, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. Once he broke things off with Agdal recently, he quickly reconciled with Prinsloo and proposed right away.
“The Nina thing was not that serious and was not going to last," a source told Us Weekly. "After Adam broke up with Behati, he couldn't stop thinking about her. He realized he really loved her and wanted to be with her."
Levine and Prinsloo then got back together “right away.”
"Adam kept talking to Behati, and was flooded with emotion when they saw each other again. He knew he wanted to propose,” said the insider.
They were seen celebrating in New York City, eating burgers and drinking champagne at restaurant Peel. They were “canoodling in the booth” and Levine left in good spirits, tipping the server $50 on a $50 check.
