Last week Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria Thomas were at the center of false accusations brought on by British Tabloid The Daily Mail. For the first time since the incident, Baldwin spoke out about the allegations where he defended his pregnant wife.

The Daily Mail claimed that Thomas was tweeting during Sopranos actor James Gandolfini’s funeral, but was later called out for their inaccuracies after one reported noted that the Daily Mail read the Twitter timestamps on the wrong time zone.

Extra caught up with the 30 Rock actor who opened up about the controversy. He said his wife is “the most appropriate, decent, kind, person. For the guy to say what he said about you… I was like, ‘You got to be kidding me.’”

Added Hilaria, “Some person with a computer ended up blaming Twitter because it was three hours behind. He can write whatever he wants and make a big problem. People just go absolutely crazy because some random person decided to mess with you that day.”

The Daily Mail has since deleted their story and sent out a pseudo apology to the mother to be.

“It was probably one of the lamest apologies, but the fact that they took it down… I guess that’s as much as you get,” Thomas noted. Her husband also apologized for calling the writer a “queen.”
