Amanda Bynes is reportedly feeling bitterness towards her parents for forcing her into acting, as she claims, and her former friend is stepping forward to spill all of the details.

Bynes’ former best friend, model Ana Rivera, told RadarOnline that the What I Like About You star feels her parents were too “overprotective” over both her life and career.

Rivera said acting was “a career she never wanted” and Hairspray was the only movie she enjoyed making. When she announced she was quitting acting in 2010 and wanted to pursue a career in fashion, her mom was not supportive and Bynes got “frustrated.”

“She said she’d never been close to her family,” Rivera said. “She was jealous of her sister, Jill, and the praise she got from her parents, as she was a teacher and had two kids and a great marriage. It felt like a real sibling rivalry and everything Amanda secretly wanted.”

Bynes has been placed an involuntary psychiatric hold and her parents are seeking a conservatorship over their daughter. A judge shot them down on Friday, but after he reviews the case, he will revisit the request.
