Although a judge ruled to keep Amanda Bynes in a psychiatric hospital for an additional two weeks, her lawyer is filing documents for an emergency hearing asking the court to release his client.
TMZ reports that another hearing will be held today at 2P.M. PT asking the judge to release Bynes, who is held on a 5150 psychiatric hold after setting fire to a Thousand Oaks, Ca. driveway earlier this week.
Thursday a judge ordered that her 72-hour stay be extended to two weeks to allow doctors to fully diagnose the former Nickelodeon actress after she was deemed harmful to herself and others. Some speculate that Bynes suffers from schizophrenic tendencies after monitoring her behavior where she is lucid for a lengthy amount of time then erratic for an hour or two.
Bynes’ parents, who have been frequent targets of her Twitter attacks, have been seeking a court ordered conservatorship over their daughter but have since been temporarily denied, TMZ notes.
According to the report a judge wants to meet one-on-one with Bynes before he rules in favor of a conservatorship, which will give her parents control over her financial and personal affairs. He also wants to speak with Bynes’ lawyer, doctors and see the police report which sent her into the hospital.
A court date is set for August 9.
