After various months of rumors about singer Avril Lavigne’s marriage and unverified pregnancy, Lavigne has finally cleared up the gossip and officially married longtime boyfriend, then fiancé, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback.

Original reports of the wedding were stirred up when Mike Heller, CEO of the talent company representing Lavigne, tweeted "I'm in south of France about to see my little Rok star #avril get married I am so happy to be part of this special celebration, " according to USA Today.

With indications that the wedding was happening right in front of him on Saturday, a little more digging was done and the wedding was revealed to have in fact taken place yesterday, July 1, at Chateau La Napoule in Mandelieu, Frances near Cannes. Following the ceremony, a rowdy celebration of the reception and dinner carried on into until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. His tweet had referred to the kick off of the weekend’s events, with the rehearsal dinner on Saturday night.

Kroeger and Lavigne have been planning the wedding for some time down, and first began dating dating a year from their wedding anniversary. "We met while recording music in March. But we started dating July 1, so I'll let the math speak for itself there. We think it's very cool that our anniversary will always be on Canada Day. We can't wait to start our life together. We're very happy," Kroeger said back in September, according to People.

Since then, reports of Lavigne’s eagerness and elaborate plans for the wedding surfaced, and were revealed last night at the festivities. It was the second wedding for Lavigne, 28, her first with Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley back in 2009 whom she later divorced. For 38 year old Kroeger, however, this is his first and what he hopes will be his only.
