Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner celebrated the baptism of their son Samuel in a West Virginia mass this weekend. Although they are one of Hollywood's most powerful couples, the duo were kept a low profile and were friendly to the locals.
The family of four celebrated at Garner's family parish, Christ Church United Methodist, in her hometown of Charleston, WV. They were joined by the actress' parents and her sister at an 11am service. An eyewitness told E! News that 7-year-old "Violet was very well-behaved" throughout the ceremony. Serepahina, 4, on the other hand "was running around, and Ben had to keep running after [her]."
The baptism was not the only milestone the couple celebrated in a low-key manner. The night before the ceremony, the parents celebrated their eight year anniversary. They enjoyed each others company over pizza, salad, and beer at Charleston's Pies & Pints. The owner tells People that the high profile couple are frequents to his restaurant. "Ben and Jen like to come in when they're in town," he said. "They're just really solid people. They seemed like they were having a great time."
Solid people may be an understatement. A source also tells E! that the pair enjoyed desert a Ellen's Homemade Ice Cream where the Oscar-winner gave employees a tip of $100 each.
