The new season of Big Brother has only been on air for two weeks and the controversies are already starting to roll in. CBS, however, is making an effort to distance themselves from the offensive statements made by some of the cast members on the live feed.

None of the racial, homophobic and misogynistic statements have been made on air, but fans of the show who watch the live feed on CBS.com are outraged over the offensive nature of language heard.

The network has since released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, saying "Big Brother is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 -- and seeing every moment of their lives. At times, the houseguests reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone.

We certainly find the statements made by several of the houseguests on the live Internet feed to be offensive. Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a houseguest appearing on Big Brother, either on any live feed from the House or during the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the program."

A list of the offensive utterings can be found on Reality Blurred. A former cast member, Ragan Fox, wrote in an open letter that if CBS really wants to “provide a groundbreaking twist, SHOW CBS VIEWERS HOW SOME STRAIGHT, WHITE PEOPLE talk about gays, Asian Americans, and African Americans.”

As a result, a Change.org petition has been created.
