Bill Cosby is returning to stand-up comedy after 30 years.

Comedy Central announced plans to air Far From Finished, Cosby's comedy concert TV special on November 24th. Directed by Robert Townsend, the show is compiled from material that Cosby performed at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center early this summer. His last TV concert special, Bill Cosby: Himself premiered in 1983.

The comedian, who recently turned 76 on Friday, has a simple reason for returning to comedy after so much time has passed. "Because... funny is funny," he said in a statement, according to USA Today.

Cosby's 1983 special focused on topics befitting of family life including weekends, dentists and raising children. In the classic stand-up, Cosby got big laughs from the audience while seated on a chair in the middle of the empty stage. The act gave way to the Emmy-winning The Cosby Show, which premiered on NBC in 1984 and followed the Huxtables, an upper-middle class African American family living in Brooklyn.

If you're skeptical about Cosby's comedic prowess, the 1983 classic is available on Youtube, and a 30th anniversary tribute of the performance (hailed as "the greatest stand-up concert ever") penned by comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, Larry Wilmore and Ray Romano is available at GQ.
