Bruce Jenner, patriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner klan, is upset at how he is being portrayed as a father and a husband on this season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians .
The gold medalist is reportedly furious about the storyline in which son Brody Jenner opens up about his childhood, claiming the Olympian was an absent father. The Huffington Post reports that Jenner is “livid” at the portrayal, saying it is a misrepresentation of him as a father and caregiver to his children.
The report, originally published on Radar Online , states that the 63-year-old athlete’s extreme frustration with the episode of the show stems from his belief that son Brody has stretched the truth.
A source tells the website that Jenner’s possible absence in Brody’s life was not his decision, as wife Kris Jenner forced him to stay home.
“Sure, there were gaps in time when Brody and Brandon were growing up and Bruce wasn’t around, but that was mainly because Kris would give him a hard time if he spent time with them,” the source said. “Kris demanded that Bruce’s attention was given to their two daughters, Kendall and Kylie. None of that — of course — was discussed on the show because it would have made Kris look bad.”
Because of the 57-year-old matriarch’s tight grip on which portions of the famous family’s life are broadcast on television, it is likely Jenner approved the cut of the episode and its content. It is also heavily speculated that the reality television show is scripted, which often results in an inaccurate portrayal of relationships within the family.
“He is an amazing father to Kendall and Kylie and is around for them much more than Kris,” the source revealed. “The marriage has been in trouble for a very long time and had only continued to go downhill. Bruce and Kris have become more like roommates and there is just no romance in the relationship.”
The source also said that Kris’ manipulation of their family life through Keeping Up with the Kardashians has led to further strain on her marriage with Jenner.
“This was one of the main reasons why Bruce got his own rental house in Malibu,” the source said. “If she didn’t want to work at the relationship, why should Bruce?”
