Cameron Diaz has been named the Artistic Director for Pour La Victoire, where she will have a hand in the designing of handbags and footwear.

“I don’t do endorsements really. This is completely different,” she tellsWWD. “Being influential in a brand and in its [advertising] campaigns interests me. I love fashion. It’s a large part of my life. What I wear is looked at. It influences what other people wear because that’s just the world we live in.”

Diaz’s new position comes following the death of elite model management founder John Casablancas, New York Times reports. The Something About Mary actress was first introduced to the company by longtime friend Dave Baram nearly a year ago.

Diaz also owns an undisclosed estate of PLV, marking a true partnership.
“Pour La Victoire gives me the opportunity to create something timeless,” Diaz explained. “There’s a lot I have to learn about the business. I’m interested in learning how collections are created. The word ‘fun,’ I want to say that it’s going to be fun, but it’s deeper than that.”

Diaz will release her first collection in the spring, however fans will get a taste of what the actress-turned-director has to offer when “Cameron’s Picks” comes out this fall.
