“Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen’s first pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays home game on Sunday went viral when it didn’t exactly reach home plate, it went to first base instead.
The commentators in the video weren’t sure what happened, since during warm ups she was pitching “strike after strike,” but maybe nerves got the best of her when it was time to throw the pitch and it was a little off to say the least.
The 27 year old Canadian singer laughed it off, People reports, by covering her face and throwing her hands in the air after the pitch.
Jepsen even posted a “before and after” shot on Instagram, writing, “A before and after. Me taking the mound. Me knocking the camera out of the photographers hands with the baseball. And me getting a sympathy hug from the catcher. Omg.”
Jepsen’s throw was a far cry from her first pitch during April’s Baltimore Orioles game, when she threw a strike.
