The next major testimony in Katherine Jackson’s wrongful death suit against AEG in Michael Jackson’s death will come from Debbie Rowe, the mother of Michael’s two eldest children. According to a report, Rowe is expected to testify about Michael’s drug addictions.
TMZ is reporting that Rowe is being called to testify for AEG, which claims that it was not responsible for Michael’s death in 2009. Rowe will testify about knowing that the “Thriller” singer was using drugs in the 1980s and 1990s, but had no idea how bad the drug use was.
The site’s sources say that she will speak about how Doctor Arnie Klein was injecting Michael with Demerol and Vistaril. However, Rowe will say that she didn’t know the details about Michael’s addictions, which will back up AEG’s claims that they also could not have known about his drug abuse.
Rowe is going to say that, as the mother of Prince and Paris, she was the only person who could stop Michael from taking drugs. But since Michael was so good at keeping his drug abuse a secret, she didn’t know. This could help AEG convince the jury that it definitely had no idea that Michael was abusing drugs before it decided to work with him for the ill-fated This Is It shows.
Rowe’s testimony will follow Katherine, who was the last witness for the plaintiff. Katherine claimed that she never saw her son “loopy or out of it” and that she didn’t know he was in financial trouble.
Meanwhile, the Associated Press has reported that blogger William Wagener was banned from the courtroom after he took a picture of members of the jury while on an elevator. He said the picture was taken by mistake and that the ban could hurt his coverage of the case.
