Queen Elizabeth II was seen paying a visit to her great grandson, the still unnamed son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, on Wednesday after the first-time parents brought him home from the hospital Tuesday evening.
The royal left her residence at Buckingham Palace and arrived at Kensington Palace to see the baby. She stayed for a half hour and went without her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, who is still recovering from abdominal surgery. The Queen leaves for Scotland on Friday for her annual summer vacation.
BBC reports that the Queen wasn’t the only visitor, the baby’s aunt and uncle – Prince Harry and the Duchess’ sister Pippa Middleton – were also seen visiting.
After their first night with their first born, the new family of three were seen leaving Kensington Palace to go to Bucklebury to spend time with the Middletons.
Us Weekly reports they left the palace around noon and got to the Duchess’ parents home just before 2pm.
After giving birth, Middleton told reporters "It's very emotional. Such a special time. I think any parent probably sort of knows what this feeling feels like."
