Eva Longoria took to Twitter early Friday morning to dispel rumors that George Clooney was trying to move on to her after his split with Stacy Keibler.
“As interesting as the George Clooney rumors are, they aren’t true,” Longoria wrote. “George and I have been friends for years.”
The statement comes in response to an Us Weekly report that Clooney pursued the 38-year-old Longoria while he was still together with Keibler. The source claimed that George had begun pursuing Longoria after the two met while they were both working in Germany. "He told her that he was still with Stacy, but had plans to break up with her and was interested in being with Eva.” The source went on to say, “Eva make it clear to him that she would not date or be with him until he was completely single.”
Clooney and Keibler reportedly called it quits after the two disagreed over marriage and their future. Keibler has denied these reports according to The NY Daily News stating that "There's nothing really dramatic that happened, so it's all good."
Longoria has said she is head over heels with her current boyfriend, Ernesto Arguello. She confirmed their relationship on Twitter on July 4, saying she “couldn’t be happier.” The former Desperate Housewives actress was previously married to NBA player Tony Parker.
