Fergie is officially Fergalicious. The Black Eyed Peas singer legally changed her name from Stacy Ferguson to Fegie Duhamel.
People reports that Fergie legally adopted her stage name after filing documents in a Los Angeles county courthouse on July 10. This is also the first time fans have seen the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” singer take on the last name of her Vegas actor husband, Josh Duhamel.
Her decision to change her name from Stacy to Fergie comes in order to "conform to the first name which she is commonly and professionally known as, and has been for many years,” TMZ reports.
Fergie will have to publish a public notice in the newspaper for four straight weeks, common practice in changing ones name, before she heads back to court on the matter August. 16.
Fergie and her husband of 4 ½ years are expecting their first child together later this year. The 37-year-old singer showed off her growing baby bump at the Kids Choice Awards back in March.
