We open on Peter and Jared on the beach after surfing. Peter is angry at another guy for stealing his waves. He confronts the guy, whose name is Geno. Once he finds out that Peter and Jared are lawyers, he apologizes to Peter and asks for their help with his cousin Johnny, who is a commercial fisherman. He explains that Johnny was “saved” by Ventura County Rescue. Now, they're charging him $25,000 because they say it was his fault they had to rescue him because he chose to go out in bad weather. Geno adds that Johnny doesn’t have the money and will have to close down his business but if he doesn’t he’ll be sued. Jared and Peter say they can’t take the case because they’re “too expensive” and wouldn’t be able to give Johnny the “face-to-face interaction” that’s crucial. Geno then says he can do the “face-to-face interaction” with the guys and report back to Johnny. He also says he has a government job with the fish and wildlife department and threatens to make Jared and Peter’s surfing difficult if they don’t take Johnny’s case.

Shoot to the guys going to see Johnny. Johnny explains to them that a “rescuer” dropped down from a chopper while he was fishing on his boat, the Carly Rose, and said his boat was too small and ordered him off it because he said the weather was bad. Johnny maintains he was fine. Jared asks why they bothered him in the first place. Johnny says a freighter on its way to China thought he was in trouble. Johnny then adds that he doesn’t fish with nets, just poles because it’s better for the sea. The guys then tell Johnny that they don’t think he should have to pay the fine and are going to take his case. Johnny then throws them a large fish as “payment” and thanks them for their help.

Shoot to Rachel telling the guys that she won’t let them take Johnny’s case because he can’t pay them for their services and sees no benefit to the firm by taking his case. Then, Damien comes in and mentions their psychic client. The guys question her taking a psychic’s case and she says that a win in her case would set a precedent and help the firm. Jared then suggests they each try their cases and see which raises the firm’s profile the most. Damien then mentions that the last time they bet against Rachel, they ended up naked on live television. This doesn’t dissuade the guys. Rachel agrees and says if her case raises the firm’s profile higher than theirs; the guys have to be in the office at 8 am for six months. Jared then says if their case brings the firm’s profile up higher than hers, “if waves are good, we surf until 10.” Rachel agrees.

Shoot to the beach house as Pindar loves the new white couch Peter just bought. Carmen questions the purchase but then thinks Peter bought it to impress Charlie.

Shoot to Rachel and Damien warning their psychic client, Juliette, that things could get personal in the courtroom as the prosecuting attorney is going to try to get her wrongful termination suit dismissed. Juliette doesn’t care. Inside the courtroom, Damien argues that she was fired for “volatile, erratic behavior, which were cooked up allegations to hide the real reason that Juliette was fired. She has a psychic gift.” Damien then explains that when Juliette touches someone, she can get visions about what they’re thinking, that she never used her gift at work and that it didn’t exactly fit with the Capstone’s image. The opposing counsel objects stating that someone can be fired for any reason. Damien then cites religious persecution and says Juliette’s actions are part of a “belief system handed down to her by her grandmother. It has rituals, ceremonies, iconic totems and these are all the hallmarks of a religious observation. Federal law is very clear. You can’t be fired for your religion.” He then admits one such totem as evidence to the judge, who agrees and says, “See you at trial.” Rachel then praises Damien’s strategy.

Shoot to the guys discussing Johnny’s case. Ventura Rescue is claiming that Johnny should pay the fine because he was “grossly negligent for going out in such rough seas.” Peter thinks they just have to prove the seas weren’t too rough for an accomplished fisherman like Johnny. Then, Pindar calls the guys and asks them where they got the new couch. They said they picked it up on the sidewalk. Pindar then says that they stole Rob Lowe’s couch. Peter then cites case law that furniture that is outside is deemed abandoned. Then, Pindar tells them that Rob Lowe just tweeted that his couch was just “drying out.” Pindar then questions why he was washing it and thinks about “what perversions this couch has witnessed” as he scans it with a black light, but finds nothing gross. Pindar then says they’re keeping the couch and the guys agree. Then, Stanton comes into their office and they hang up with Pindar. Stanton mentions that the guys must have heard about his “conversion at Victoria Falls.” He then tells them that he’s starting the Infeld Foundation, “which will be about elevating lives, building dreams and raising humanity to its pinnacle. Distilled into one simple word, it’s about…erection.” The guys love the idea. Then, Stanton asks them how Johnny’s case is going. Peter tells him that they have a plan for when they go to court. Stanton wants them to help Johnny.

Shoot to Damien and Rachel discussing Juliette’s case. He asks her if she believes that Juliette is a psychic. She says, “We don’t have to believe in psychics, we just have to know the law.” Damien then thanks Rachel for bringing him on the case and tells her that if they win, it sets a precedent and it will good for him when he tries for judge. Then, Carmen comes in and introduces herself to Rachel. Damien tells Rachel that Carmen lives with Jared and Peter. Rachel then tells Carmen that she wants to get info on Juliette while she worked at Capstone. Rachel then gets a text that Juliette has been arrested.

Shoot to Damien and Rachel bailing Juliette out. She explains that she went to Capstone to return her key card and ran into her ex-boss, Bryan Easton, in the parking garage. “We shook hands and…it happened. One of my visions,” Juliette tells them. She then says she had a vision of him hitting her so she pepper-sprayed him in the face. Damien then pulls Rachel aside and tells her that if Bryan testifies that Juliette “peppered him,” that will support their claim of her erratic behavior. Rachel then says that they don’t say it was an assault but something else.

Shoot to the guys in court as the recording of the rescuer, Captain Masters, saying he was going to “pluck” Johnny from the water was played. He testifies that Johnny was “grossly negligent” for going out in such rough waters. Johnny comes into court late and Jared quietly asks him why he smells like beer. Masters then testifies that where Johnny was could have brought about motion sickness, which would have made him disoriented. Peter asks if Masters has trained in simulators that mimic motion sickness. Masters says he has. Peter then wants to call Johnny to the stand to go into a simulator to prove he could have handled the conditions Masters says the sea was in at the time of Johnny’s “rescue.” Masters agrees. The guys strap Johnny into a motion sickness simulator in the courtroom. They turn in on and Johnny seems to be fine but then he throws up.

Shoot to Johnny telling the guys that his boat, the Carly Rose being found but Johnny’s worried that the people who found her can now claim ownership. Johnny wants to call the people to see if he can convince them to give him his boat back. Jared offers the use of their phone but Johnny says that fisherman only use VHF radio. Jared, becomes suspicious, then plays the recording of the initial call to rescue Johnny, which was supposed to have come from a freighter. Johnny notes that there isn’t any “engine hum” in the background. He then tells the guys that the thinks the call was made by a competitor of his, Highland Fishing. The guys tell him if they can prove they made the call, they’d have to pay the rescue charge. Jared and Peter then see Juliette. They go over and introduce themselves. Peter asks her if she can see a blonde doctor in his future. She holds his hand and is about to say something when Peter pulls his hand away.

Shoot to the guys stopping by Highland Fishing. They see a bird cage there and Peter remembers the weird noise on the recording and thinks the chirping on the tape was the bird, Clarence.

Shoot to a man testifying that Juliette touched him and correctly predicted his car accident, six weeks before it happened. Another woman testifies that Juliette hugged her and then told her she’d have twins even though doctors said she couldn’t get pregnant, a year later, she had twin boys and another woman said that Juliette touched her and said she’d find her husband in bed with a contractor and she even knew the contractor’s name was Brad. Damien then gets Juliette on the stand. She testifies to having a vision of her ex-boss, Bryan, attacking her. Damian argues that she pepper sprayed him in self-defense, but the judge rules that only applies if they can prove that Bryan intended to hurt Juliette.

Shoot to the guys asking the judge in Johnny’s case to subpoena Highline Fishing’s bird, Clarence. The judge won’t issue the subpoena without more proof.

Shoot to Carmen going to an interview at Capstone under a fake name. She starts a conversation with the secretary when she sees her young son’s picture then asks about Juliette.

Shoot to the guys talking and Stanton coming in and telling them about being contacted by Rob Lowe about the couch the guys took off the street. He tells the guys to keep the sofa because Lowe stole Jackie Bisset from him and punched Stanton’s houseguest five years earlier, the ambassador of Tongo, for walking on “his sand.”

Shoot to the guys trying to get Geno’s help concerning Clarence, the parrot, but he says the fish and wildlife department can’t help. He does tell them if a company is suspected of picking up undersized catch, the department checks every boat, warehouse, car, etc. of that company and can shut them down.
Shoot to Rachel and Damien telling Juliette that they got her a settlement offer of $50,000. Rachel advises Juliette to take it. Then, Juliette touches Rachel. She says she sees her wearing a crown but that Rachel doesn’t want it. Juliette then says she wants to prove her psychic powers in court. Rachel agrees to go forward though Damien doesn’t want to.

Shoot to Geno getting the guys into the house of Highline Fishing’s owner. They find Clarence the parrot in the living room with a suspicious spray bottle near his cage.

Shoot to Juliette on the stand in court. She fails to guess a random name and number that her ex-boss, Bryan, writes on a piece of paper.

Shoot to the beach house. Rob Lowe’s assistant drops by to get the couch but Pindar won’t let him in.

Shoot to Carmen telling Rachel that she found out that Bryan was involved in some underhanded business practices while Juliette worked at Capstone.
Shoot to Jared and Peter citing precedent to the judge to subpoena the bird. They also mention Johnny's eco-friendly business practices.

Shoot to Rachel putting Bryan on the stand and mentioning Mt. Wood Community College. She then asks him if he fired Juliette to gain access to her client list. His says yes. It seems Juliette learned that Bryan went to a community college, information that would embarrass him if it were to be discovered.

Shoot to Jared putting Highline Fishing's secretary, Janice on the stand. They play the recording, which features a strange chirping noise, then call Clarence, the parrot, to the stand. Janice says that Clarence has never said a word or chirps, but when the bird is put near her she starts to sneeze. Jared notes that she’s allergic to Clarence and that he noticed a bottle of anti-dander spray on her desk. He then accuses Janice of making the rescue call to destroy Johnny’s business.

Shoot to Damien telling Juliette that Capstone wants her back and will probably offer her Bryan's job. She thanks him then takes his hand and says she sees him in jail.

Shoot to the guys having won the first anti-piracy case since the 19th century, Rachel tells them they won the bet and to enjoy the surf.

Shoot to Jared, Peter, Johnny and Geno on the beach. Johnny tells the guys that he’s getting his boat back and that Highline will be paying his fine. Pindar then runs down to the beach to tell the guys that the couch is gone. Then, the guys go surfing.
