Amid all of the bad press the Aaron Hernandez saga has gotten, for him personally and his former organization, the New England Patriots, a feel good story came to light on the issue.
Hernandez was arrested, and charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd, and recently it has been said that he will be investigated in a double murder that occurred a year ago in Boston.
The Patriots have handled the situation admirably throughout. After Hernandez was officially arrested the Patriots released him, even though it would be a big hit to the teams salary cap. Now that more information is being released on this case, the Patriots have allowed the opportunity for anyone with an Aaron Hernandez Patriot jersey to exchange them for any other jersey, without charge.
"We know that children love wearing their Patriots jerseys but may not understand why parents don't want them wearing their Hernandez jerseys anymore," Patriots spokesman Stacey James said in a statement, according to ESPNBoston.com.
Hernandez is still innocent until proven guilty, and there is a lot that still needs to play out involving his murder cases. But from the beginning The Patriots, known across the league as one of the classiest organizations in the NFL, have handled this situation tremendously, even though Hernandez was one of their most important players.
