The second season of pop culture phenomenon Here Comes Honey Boo Boo premiered on Wednesday night, and now that Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson is officially a reality star she is retiring from pageants.

Alana shot to fame on TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras and she quickly got her own spin-off show.

Her mom, June “Mama” Shannon told In Touch, “We’re done,” her mother. We haven’t done a pageant for a while, because we’re so busy with our show [TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo] and school and life in general.”

The 7 year old is still connected to the pageant world and “misses the stage,” says Shannon. “We still have all our pageant friends. We go along and cheer on our other pageant friends,” she explained.

She also said about her daughter, “Alana’s trying different things, but I don’t think she’s found that new niche yet that she wants to get into.”

Cambio notes Here Comes Honey Boo Boo airs on TLC Wednesday’s at 9pm.
