After months of speculation, host Elisabeth Hasselback is leaving The View for Fox and Friends.

It has been rumored for months that her outspoken conservative views would lead to her departure from the show, reported People.

Hasselbeck will now replace Gretchen Carlson as co-host on Fox & Friends of the conservative-leaning network.

"I have been a long-time fan of Fox & Friends and am excited to be joining their team in September," Hasselbeck said to MSN.

Her last day on ABC's talkshow will be Wednesday, ending her 10-year run on the show. It is still unclear who will replace Hasselback, however, Jenny McCarthy is said to be seriously considering joining the talk show, reported TheCelebrityCafe. USWeekly reports Brooke Shields is also in talks to join the show.

With fellow co-host Barbara Walters retiring soon and Joy Behar not returning in the Fall, Hasselback's exit will usher in a huge shift in the show's hosting within the coming months.
