It’s a boy! The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William have welcomed their first son together Monday, at 4:24 p.m.
Royal sources confirmed that Kate went into labor around 6 a.m. Monday morning and now the Buckingham Palace has confirmed that William and Kate have welcomed a healthy, eight pound baby boy, National Post reports.
Media gathered outside of St. Mary’s Hospital in London to be a part of the momentous event. Their son, whose name has not been announced yet, will be third in line for the British throne behind his grandfather Charles and father, William.
The Duchess’ pregnancy was announced earlier than normal after she was admitted to ing Edward VII Hospital after suffering a severe case of morning sickness. Her pregnancy has remained a hot topic with many speculating whether or not the Duchess would give birth to a royal prince or princess.
