Those who attended the BET Awards on Sunday night were asked about the highly talked about Paula Deen controversy that has been making headlines daily.

Deen has been dropped by many major retailers since admitting in a deposition that she used the “n-word” and that she was planning a plantation-style wedding for her brother a few years back, complete with African American waiters.

Extra’s AJ Calloway asked actor Jamie Foxx what he thought about it, and he said, “If you take someone from the Deep South, and I'm from the South, sometimes you’ve got to understand where they come from -- not to say it's right.”

Comedian Kevin Hart somewhat agreed, saying, “I think she made a mistake. I definitely think there should be consequences. I think they were a little severe. Taking everything away from the woman was a bit much.”

Host Chris Tucker added his two cents, saying “I think everybody deserves a second chance.”
