Johnny Depp made a tragic statement during an interview with BBC, saying he may give up acting in the not too distant future.

Depp, who has been onscreen since the early 1980’s, sat down with BBC News where he explained, “At a certain point you start thinking and when you add up the amount of dialogue you say per year for example, you realize you’ve said written words more than you’ve had a chance to say your own words.”

He continues, as quoted by New York Daily News, “You start thinking of that as an insane option for a human being. Are there quieter things I wouldn’t mean doing? Yeah. I wouldn’t say I’m dropping out any second, but I would say it’s probably not too far away.”

Depp’s latest film, The Lone Ranger, was not well received by viewers, grossing just over $81 million to date.

Despite Depp’s comments, he still has a handful of projects set for the future. He is slated to star in Transcendence, Mortdecai, Into the Woods, Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and the recently announced Alice in Wonderland.
