Kristen Bell has just wrapped filming on the upcoming Veronica Mars movie, and while she is ecstatic that news of the film has been so well-received, she says little brings her more joy than motherhood.

"It was hard because I always wanted to be with the baby a ton," Bell told E! News of filming. "But also I was so excited to be with my friends again. It's almost too much joy if that's possible!"

The movie, which is due out early 2014, was made in part by funding from fans of the television show. Bell said that creator Rob Thomas was able to raise more than $5.7 million for the film through Kickstarter, reception that was “a dream come true.”

"We were somehow lucky enough that people who watched the show wanted to give us their hard-earned money and say, ‘Here, will you do this?' and we were just overjoyed," Bell explained. "Just thank you thank you thank you. Thank you for letting us do this again. We're so genuinely thankful."

Bell’s other source of joy, baby girl Lincoln, has yet to make her debut to the public, but Bell assured fans on The Ellen Degeneres Show back in June that her daughter is adorable.

"That's strikingly close to what she looks like," Bell joked when shown a photo of a baby sloth.
