Sultry songstress Lana Del Rey makes headlines again with tweeting her confirmation of being involved in the 30-minute short film Tropico.
According to Rolling Stone Rey posted artwork from the film and gave vague details about Tropico. She is definitely teasing awaiting fans by tweeting “"TROPICO - a 30 minute film coming to a city near your. Premier dates coming soon. Lots of Love, Lana Del Rey."
Based off what the poster promotes Tropico "a tale of redemption told to the music of 'Body Electric,' 'God's and Monster's,' and 'Bel Air.'" Anthony Mandler will direct the film, whom Rey has worked with before.
Rey tends to have cinematic attributes and qualities in her music video that delivers memorable performances. For her single “Ride” the music video was ten minutes long. The music video opens with a narrative and then bursts into her dreary voice.
Complex Music reports that Rey gives another cinematic performance in her music video “National Anthem.” Opening with mimicking Marilyn Monroe’s signing happy birthday to the president. John F. Kennedy is portrayed by rapper A$AP Rocky. Rey incorporates some audio clips of John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
In addition to working on Tropico there has been speculation of Rey being engaged. According to Daily Mail, Rey was showing off a large diamond ring while house hunting with boyfriend, Scottish rock star Barrie-James O'Neill. The couple has been together for less than year but they have kicked their relationship to serious mode with looking at homes in Los Angeles.
