Law and Order star Dennis Farina has passed away at the age of 69. He survived his three children with ex-wife Patricia Farina, who he divorced in 1980. He has four grandsons and two granddaughters.
He didn’t remarry but his rep said he was also survived by "the love of his life of 35 years, Marianne Cahill,” TMZ reports.
Farina was born in Chicago in 1944 and he was a cop with the Chicago Police Department from 1967 to 1985, before getting into acting. He starred as Det. Joe Fontana on Law and Order, in addition to starring roles in HBO’s Luck, Get Shorty, Snatch and Midnight Run.
The actor died in Scottsdale, Arizona from a blood clot in his lung.
ABC Chicago reports he said in 2011, “I believe I'm the luckiest guy in the world, and I wake up and thank God for everything that's happening, you know, I don't take anything for granted.”
