The cast and crew of Glee got together to honor the late Cory Monteith on the 20th Century Fox lot on Thursday two weeks after his tragic death.
It marked the first time they reunited since his untimely death at the age of 31. Monteith’s on-screen and off-screen girlfriend, Lea Michele, planned the memorial with co-creator Ryan Murphy.
“Today, Ryan Murphy and Lea Michele gathered the cast, crew and producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith," said a statement about the memorial, MTV News reports. "We thank the public for their continued outpouring of love and support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult time."
There were over 150 people at the event, including Glee co-stars Kevin McHale, Chord Overstreet and Darren Criss.
According to People, those who did attend wore black ribbons as a tribute to the fallen actor, who was declared dead due to a mixture of heroin and alcohol.
"They were somber," said an onlooker. "There were a lot of production staff and crew too and most everyone was dressed in black."
