Leah Remini was rumored to have left the Church of Scientology after years of reported interrogations, and she has now broken her silence on the matter.
As we previously reported, the former King of Queens star was forced to go through “thought modification” for years when she started to question the motives of leader David Miscavige.
“I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and from fans around the world. I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support," Remini said in a statement to People.
When asked to comment on Remini’s departure, the church said “The church respects the privacy of parishioners and has no comment about any individual church member."
Other famous Scientologists are John Travolta, Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley.
Sources say Remini “is stepping back from a regime she thinks is corrupt. She thinks no religion should tear apart a family or abuse someone under the umbrella of ‘religion.'"
