Some new details regarding Leah Remini’s departure from the Church of Scientology are now coming to light. Her sister, who also left the church in 2005, says that the King of Queens star will fight for what she believes in.
After news of her departure from the church, which includes other celebrities like Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley and John Travolta amongst its members, surfaced Remini said in statement the next day, “I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and from fans around the world. I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support.”
There were reports Alley was “livid” with Remini for leaving when she tweeted "When faced w malicious gossip I take a moment to experience the loss of the person I thought was my friend... Then I say f--k em..:) #RISE.” But she followed up with “don't believe everything you read ...in fact don't believe anything you read..even better, just stop reading..;) xxo.”
Now, Remini’s sister, Nicole Remini-Wiskow, told People her sister is “laying low” after leaving the church.
"Leah is saying 'I'm seeing things are wrong.' She fights for what she believes in." An insider also said, "Stepping away from Scientology will be challenging. But she will fight."
